Roche de Boeuf

September 22 is the annual Roche de Boeuf festival of Waterville.

Roche de Boeuf Festival description from the Waterville Chamber of Commerce: "This fun festival is in its 34th year and takes place on the streets of Downtown Waterville.  From 9am to 4pm, the streets are lined with craft and food vendors of all types.  At 10am, the parade runs down South River Road from the Waterworks Park to Mechanic Street, featuring the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals, our Home Town Hero, and floats (for the second year, a float contest with cash prizes will take place).  Within the festival area is a car show with prizes for People's Choice, custom and modified, and classic cars.  Also along South River Road are the Lost Arts areas with demonstrations of weaving, dulcimer players, Indian games and the like.  At Farnsworth and South River Road, and also at Farnsworth Road and Second Street, there are stages set up for entertainment.  Local bands (country, classic rock, etc), magicians, the Waterville Playshop, the Anthony Wayne Cheerleaders, and other acts perform throughout the day. The festival is free to attendees, as is parking and shuttle service."
